Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Where should I stay while I attend Texas Fruit Festival 2026?

There are numerous options for where to stay this year and stay connected to the community during the entirety of the event.
— You can be a crew member, and contribute some service to the festival for 4.5 hours each day, and receive a free ticket as a result, as well as a pass for community-style lodging on-site. Please see ticket info for more details.
— You can find your own lodging offsite in a hotel or Air BnB or hostel nearby. We have listed some hotels below in the FAQs which could be a good option for you.
— You can stay in official Texas Fruit Festival off-site lodging. We have secured houses which are Air BnBs which are official festival lodging areas. You can have access to your own private room as well as shared bathroom and kitchen which will be shared with other festival attendees. Please see ticket info for more details.
— You can pack your own tent and sleeping bag and camp at the nearest available campground, located just 5 miles away on a nature reserve in the heart of South Austin. Please see THIS LINK for more info.

Can I use the on-site community lodging if I am not a crew member / volunteer?

As of now, the only option to stay at the on-site community-style lodging is for crew members / volunteers. We may make this option available to others after crew member spots sell out, but we also might not.

If I buy a ticket for off-site lodging, how many people can stay in my room?

If you buy a private room off-site lodging ticket, the bed is at least a full / double bed, which sleeps two people comfortably. You don’t need a separate lodging ticket if you have an extra guest(s) in your room, but that extra guest needs to buy a standard ticket for the festival (staying off-site) which does not include the lodging cost.

Do I need a separate ticket to attend the durian party?

Yes — the durian party cost is not baked into everybody’s ticket price. Because everybody doesn’t love durian, or it willing to pay a premium cost to access exotic, imported fruit that is costly to transport. This simplifies the situation and allows us to have a durian party in a way that is equitable and fair. You can add this to your ticket when you check out. Crew members / volunteers who want to attend the durian party also need to purchase a separate add-on ticket.

It also gets you access to on-site community style lodging for the duration of the event. For more information please refer to ticket details.

As of now there is no official before or after party planned for 2026 Texas Fruit Festival. However, there is a 99% chance that there will be events whether numerous guests from Texas Fruit Festival gather both before and afterwards.

Expect a high probability of there being a before-festival party on Wednesday evening, April 29, and an after-festival party all day and all night on Monday, May 4.

Is the food organic? How is it sourced? Will it be transparent of what kind of produce it is and where it comes from?

Some of our food will be conventional and some will be organic. Any produce where the skin / peel is eaten (like leafy greens, cucumbers, grapes, tomatoes, apples, etc.), will be sourced organically. Some fruits will be sourced conventionally (for example it is quite difficult for us to find the varieties of mango, pineapple and papaya in an organic option).

We have multiple supplier relationships, including with local, regional, national, and even international sources. Indeed, much of the best produce we find we source directly from Mexican farmers.

We will have a transparent informational sheet that anybody at the festival can reference, which will be posted, and will contain information about all of the produce at the event:

  • Is it conventional / organic
  • Country of origin (if we have access to that information)
  • Name of farm (if we have access to that information
  • If it was treated by irradiation, or any other information which would be good to know

We are committed to maximum quality, affordability, and transparency, when it comes to the fruits and vegetables served at Texas Fruit Festival.

Can I set up a booth or become a vendor at Texas Fruit Festival?

Due to making the best use we have of the space, and the comfort of our guests, we are not granting any permissions for booths or vendors at 2026 Texas Fruit Festival.

How can I stay in touch with other guests? Can I coordinate rides, accommodations, travel, etc.?

Please make sure you join our WhatsApp group to stay in touch with our large and growing community of festival attendees.

Where should I park during the event?

How can I learn more about the venue for Texas Fruit Festival — Casa de Luz?

Casa de Luz sits on 1 acre right next to downtown Austin, Lake Austin, Barton Creek natural springs, and numerous walking trails. For over 30 years, this has been a community center and a place for natural healers to gather in Austin.

There is a whole-foods plant-based restaurant onsite, a cafe and cacao meditation lounge, a juicery, sauna, hot and cold plunge, a courtyard area, numerous indoor spaces for activities — plus lots of areas for seating, lounging, relaxing and taking in the beautiful scenery.
